You answered your own question.
ETA: Just be glad you're not trying to get a Federal permit from BLM or BOEM.

You didn't use one of their approved builders, did you?
It probably has a lot to do with the Army Corps of engineers and the Parish's elevation requirements.

Only took 2 days to get one from Rapides parish to build an outdoor kitchen. Did you have everything you needed before applying for the permit? If the application isnt complete they will just back burner it. I would call and see if they need anything else.
I probably talked to the guy that approved it 10 times before I applied. I knew exactly what he wanted to see on paper before I sent him anything.

You should be fine then, I would call him and get him to call since he actually applied for it.

You must have problems. It usually only takes 2 weeks. Call Lavern and tell him to get off his big arse

Yep. Lavern will deal with you personally. 6 weeks sounds like bs from your builder

Is it construction in a "new" neighborhood?

Should have never approved the home rule charter. It was better when you had a direct line to your corrupt police juror. Now you have incompetence and corruption hidden by bureaucracy.

Have you called and asked for a status update?

Lavern had some hot daughters back in the day.
