buying a new phone this year. Any recommendations ?

That's tough as we don't know squat about the N6.
I would say N6 because I love the Nexus line and only buy them anymore, but the G3 is a great phone too.

Who's making the N6??? Motorola? The N5 was LG's last year for it correct?
Will the N6 have expandable memory? That was the negative of the N5, right?

LG made the 4 and 5 so safe to assume they will make the 6, but also been Motorola rumors (there were for the 5 too though).

No, they never will, Google hates expandable memory like Apple. Those companies devices will never have it.

Im leaning towards nexus 5 because Im coming off of a nexus S and I love how plain the os is. And its much cheaper.
Im seeing new nexus 5s in the upper $300 range right. Thinking I might as well wait until nexus 6 comes out

Nexus lines hold their value very well. You can buy a 5 now and not be out much money after the 6 comes out
I also have a nexus 5 32gb that's basically brand new that I'm selling

Have you had any issues with the phone overheating and wanting to shutdown?
My friend has one and has complained about this. Just curious.

How has your battery life performance been? That's my primary concern about the G3.
I'm thinking of making the jump from iOS to droid and leaning towards the G3 if I do.

I'll be offering up my 3 invites to share here first, if I ever get them that is.

I got one and Ive never had an issue with this.
Battery life is pretty good, havent really tested it. I can go all day without charging with about 3 hours of pandora streaming with volume all the way up and normal use and still have half or more of battery life at the end of the day. Havent really tested it other than that though.

Gotcha.

Ill have to check the screen tomorrow, havent really been outside with the phone to much yet.
I will say that I havent noticed or had to struggle when looking at it while walking to the car, etc.
