Aug 30 North Texas W
Sep 6 BYU W
Sep 13 UCLA L
Sep 27 @Kansas W
Oct 4 Baylor L
Oct 11 @Oklahoma L
Oct 18 Iowa St. W
Oct 25 @Kansas St. L
Nov 1 @Texas Tech W
Nov 8 West Virginia W
Nov 15 @Oklahoma St. L
Nov 27 TCU W

I give them 7-5, but could also see 8-4. K-State, TTU, and WVU are the 3 tossups here to me.

9-3, though they could also just as easily be 7-5.

Kids are going to quit on him because they are use to be treated like kings.

7-5, 8-4 tops. Strong knew he would be rebuilding that program and he hasn't shy'ed away from it.

Losses to OSU, OU, Baylor (of course) and TT/UCLA

We've seen it happen umpteen times with red-arse coaches in their first year. Upper classmen getting kicked off the team or benched = young starters by year's end.

I'll be happy with around 7 wins this year and some major headway next season.

Eight wins seems realistic.

6-6, IMO. I'm not convinced Texas can win on the road against KState, OkState or Texas Tech. UCLA, Oklahoma and Baylor are all better teams.

I don't think his first year is going to look very pretty. I think the team will progressively get better throughout the season, use its natural borne talent to win some early games, but also lose because everything will still be fluid. I agree with OP's prediction with the exception @TTU being a loss.

Texas is a total unknown IMO.

Upside seems limited. Could either be a rough year or a surprise 9 win season for the horns. Baylor, OU. and UCLA are the only "definite losses" I see on their schedule.

8-4

Are you insane?

Or do you just have no idea what the hell you are talking about?
