Whenever I buy stuff at a local store for auto detailing I'm always trying different brands and such to see what works. Just general cleaning and preservation. I was looking at some of what I assume to be better quality cleaning chemicals and such from autogeek.net and griotsgarage.com.

I have a griotsgarage d.a. polisher. It works great for removing swirl marks and hard water spots.... I use meguiars microfiber correction system with mine

3M Perfect-It series will do just about anything you want.
If you start a detailing business, then you'll find a few products that suit your personal tastes better.
Stop by an auto paint store, and they'll have whatever you need.

I'm trying to get the spot on my windshield that the wipers don't get clean. Even when I wash and clean, I still have residue.

Water spots on glass? Just use a heavy compound with a wool pad. They'll come right off. Also works on slightly dull headlights.

You don't need any motorized polisher, DA or otherwise, on new paint or if you aren't familiar with them.
You can induce a lot more damage than you can fix.

Stick with Meguiar's
LINK

Wash the tires and wheels first. Then change the water and use a fresh wash mitt for the rest of the vehicle.

Your goal is to keep micro-scratches out of the paint. They really show up, especially on dark colors.

Best ever.

I like 3M for compounds, though.

I have been using the Meguirs Ultimate Compound to get out scratches, scrapes, and swirls with my DA Porter Cable, and it works extremely well. Also use autogeek pads. I have been completely happy with the results

I use Meguir's:

Clay bar
Spray on detailer with that
Ultimate Compound or Cleaner Wax
Polish
And NXT for lighter colors or Gold Class for darker
Ultimate Black
Interior quick detailer

Lexol on the interior leather

Why? I do the complete opposite.

Either way, really,

Just change the water and mitts.

I don't disagree.

I jus started using 3M many years ago and am just more familiar with their products, esp. for heavy cutting.

Clay bar is the best thing every for surface contaminants.
