I don't know if you guys have ever heard of the dude but his name is Matt Patrick I believe and he runs a YouTube channel that does ridiculous research on games and exposes them in some of the weirdest ways imaginable. My personal favorite is:

Mario is Mental Pt. 1

Mario is Mental Pt. 2

You should check him out if you haven't...some of it's geeky but most of it is funny as frick

I know Nintendo has wrecked this theory, but I have always wanted to believe that every version of The Legend of Zelda was the same story but being told by people today from different walks of life.

People that live in a region like the Southern Pacific would tell the Legend of Zelda in the form of The Wind Waker.

People that lived in Europe would tell the Legend of Zelda as though it were A Link to the Past

North America would tell the Legend as though it were The Ocarina of Time.

I thought it would be more interesting to believe that nobody even knows if the story ever happened, which is why it became Legend. And over time the story spread across the world and people told it different and the only thing that was consistent with the Legend was that it involved a princess, an awoken ancient evil, and a reluctant hero garbed in green.

This is gonna be way tl;dr for most but the theory of why Termina was doomed in Majora's Mask and the idea that the stone tower was similar to the tower of Babel is my favorite

Not a specific theory, although there used to be tons, and I guess they're still out there, but because of how much time has passed no one spends much time on it these days. But I used to love speculating on who, or what, this bastard was and what his ultimate goals were:

And that right there proves that MM is a better overall story and game than OOT.

Let the debate forever be over.

That was awesome though. I'm gonna have to play it again one day and look for all those things.

Thats a lot of reading between the lines to do. Ocarina of Time's story is so much easier to follow. Plus the temples are way better in Ocarina of Time, there are more of them, and its way cooler to collect the medallions instead of the masks. Only thing Majora's Mask has on Ocarina of Time is the masks giving abilities. Particularly the bunny hood. But I digress

I also love the theory that Lorule in Link Between Worlds is Termina after the moon falls in Majora's Mask

Seriously, they did so much research into this that it made way more sense than the actual games ending.

I will go to my grave believing that indoctrination is the real ending to ME3.

Bioshock Infinite is another good one.

In the book/tv world it's Game of thrones. That shite get out of hand on the movie/tv board.

Chrono Trigger is a retelling of the Bible. Chrono is Jesus, Lavos is the devil, Queen Zeal is the antichrist. Chrono sacrifices himself to save his friends but is resurrected. all but one of his magical abilities uses lightning, and it's a resurrection spell. in the midevil age the humans (Christians) are at constant war with the monsters(Muslims) led by Magus (Mohammed). The three wise men in the game are named the same as the three wise men in the Bible, and each bestows a gift. Lavos falling to the Earth like a giant star and destroying most of the world is right out of the book of Revelation. There's a lot more but I'll stop.
