I, as a marsh camp owner, am offended that I cannot have a similar right to clean fish at my camp and bring them back to a landing. Now any asshat off the street can keep three limits because he pays to stay at Port Eads? thoughts? If you are concerned, email the guy in the article.

Sounds like you need a receipt for your "housing"

That's messed up!

We should be able to keep 2 limits when we do an overnighter

I myself have faced this problem while staying at Port Eads. I have definitely made more than one run back to the marina to drop off a few limits of filets in an ice chest in the truck to avoid running back upriver with more than one day's limit. Its a pain, but if you're down there for like 4 or 5 days, its a necessary evil. Same with ducks.

This seems like a very slippery slope. While I agree that its BS, I don't see how it could be done in a fair manner without making it legal for everyone Statewide. Friends with camps in Oyster Bayou should be afforded the same courtesy. I don't know...some sort of Camp Registration permit or something?

ETA: And now that I re-read it, WTF is up with having my tax dollars going to have a public servant there to watch you count and clean your fish? Its also interesting that public comment on this proposal is by snailmail only. Sounds to me like somebody's mind is already made up.

At this moment, I am not offended by this. I have a trip coming up to stay at Port Eads. After that, I will be offended.

Yeah, i'll probably go to Port Eads at some time and want the benefit of this law, but got damn. Why the government always gotta be hand selecting people to benefit and I'm never that person?
