A source informed Profootballtalk that suspended WR Josh Gordon's failed drug test barely generated a positive, and it would have been a negative had luck been on Gordon's side. Gordon was summoned for a urine sample. Those samples are split into two bottles, one marked "A" and the other "B." It's completely random which one is marked "A" and which is labeled "B." "A" is tested first, and if it generates a positive test, then "B" is tested. The limit is 15 nanograms-per-milliliter. Gordon's "A" bottle showed a concentration of 16 ng/ml, while his "B" registered a 13.6 ng/ml. The result was a failed test. If urine sample handlers would have by chance marked the "A" bottle "B" and the "B" bottle "A," then Gordon would be free to play. Gordon is appealing the ban, and his hearing will be held on Friday. There seems to be a decent chance he wins.

So you're saying there's a chance?

He also hired Richard Sherman's lawyer from when he beat a suspension and has checked into rehab

He needs to rush out and beat-a-bitch. The NFL will have no choice but to reduce his suspension.

If he wouldn't have gotten that DUI he would be sitting in a pretty good position.

He also barely failed that one too

Sources tell ESPN that Josh Gordon's blood-alcohol count was .09 when he was arrested on suspicion of DWI over July 4th weekend. The legal limit in North Carolina is .08, so the Browns have reportedly been told that it's possible the charges will be reduced. That could help Gordon's case when he applies for reinstatement to the league following his impending suspension. Gordon's hearing on that marijuana-related suspension is scheduled for sometime in the next two weeks, at which point the 16-game ban is expected to become official.

Damn.

So on a scale from Tim Tebow to Thug POS, he might be closer to Tim than many thought originally.

I hope he wins his appeal because the no marijuana rule is just dumb, not based on the fact that he barely failed.

Barely failing is still failing. He still smoked the weed.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for him. He knew the rules and the consequences and still decided to smoke.

Technically he passed and he failed at the same time

Im not sure he did. He gets tested constantly, and this was the only time he failed. And the fact that he failed at such a small level seems like it could be something else that triggered to positive. He continued to get tested after the failed test, and tested negative for those too.

I don't think anyone feels sorry for him. It's just a dumb rule and their punishment system is a fricking joke

He put himself in the position to leave it up to the numbers and laws of averages.

What if he just smoked weed?

Is that better than smoking 'the weed'?

i agree it's a dumb rule, but it's still a rule that you have to follow.
