This makes me happy.... very happy.

Man the difference in Jenkins and Byrd is ridiculous. Its amazing we had the 2nd best pass D last season with Jenkins back there. Not only do we get a lot better vs the pass, we also get a lot better vs the run as well.

Malcolm Jenkins struggled against both the run and the pass. He missed 16 tackles in 2013, and the QBR against him was 103.3QBR. In 2012, he missed 20 tackles(in 13 games...wow thats amazing) and gave up an 115.7QBR. In 2011 he just missed 9 tackles and gave up an 92.5QBR. So an average of 15missed tackles and a 103.8QBR over these last 3 seasons.

Byrd is pretty much the complete opposite. Hell, in his 5 year career hes only missed 22 tackles, (Jenkins missed 20 in 13 games in 2012). In 2013 he missed 4 tackles, 35.0QBR. In 2012, he missed 4 tackles, 56.9QBR. And in 2011 he missed 7 tackles, and a 54.9QBR. And the 7 tackles in 2011 were the most of his career in 1 season, other than that season hes never missed more than 4 tackles in a single season.... really impressive. So an average of 5 missed tackles and a 48.9QBR against him over these last 3 seasons. (Career averages of 4.4 missed tackles per year and 56.6QBR against him).

Its literally a night and day difference.
