Reading all of the plays Lewis is making in camp got me to thinking that he will shine this year as a top CB. Then I started putting all the pieces together that we have on defense, and it hit me that he will do more than that: he will be a top 2 CB in the league. Maybe this is just fanboy talk, but hear me out. The most important factor for any CB to have maximum success is a pass rush. Our DL will be top 5, and we have great pass rush from Twitter and (hopefully?) Butler. With the addition of Byrd and Bailey, we have what I believe is the best Safety group in NFL and an injection of experience and (hopefully?) talent at CB. All of this will equal to Lewis having tons of opportunity to dominate. This will be a special year for him, and he will be thrust into the talk of Best in the League.

With that, these are the Saints players I believe will be voted All Pro.

Graham
Byrd
Lewis

Brees is a tough sell only due to his competition. Manning and Rogers will battle him for that designation.

Graham is the only one I can really see making it. Drew isn't getting in, no matter how good of a year he has with Manning and Brady still in the league.

Brees
Graham
Gallette
Byrd

Edit: Brees will get it because he's 25 now. Manning and Rodgers and Brady are all old.

This is exactly it. The league loves Brees, but not as much as Manning and Brady. He will never be put equal to or above them in the NFL's eyes. Byrd I am putting in based on him being thought of as a top 5 guy, and he will have tons of opportunities with this D.

Lewis is the surprise guy I think will make it. He is setup to have an All-Pro season, and I truly believe this D will be contending for the top 3 designation this season. My only concern is at MLB, but with our safeties I think there will be less pressure on the MLB to cover TE. It still will be a weakness, but one that can be covered by scheme and surrounding players.

I honestly think this is the year Drew finally wins an MVP. So I think he'll definitely be All-Pro. Along with these guys:

Graham
Vaccarro
Cooks (return man)

I'm not seeing Lewis, not with the talent at CB in the league.

Same reason Lewis won't. Too much hype for Peterson, Haden, anyone in Seattle, Dee Millner, or anyone who proclaims themselves the best CB in the league. The media listens to the loud mouths. Same reason Colston has never made a Pro Bowl. Lewis doesn't run his mouth. Won't be seen or heard.

I think Brees is a shoo in, Lewis is the one I consider to be a tough sell for the same reason, competition.

I also think KV32 gets hard consideration.

Evans and Grubbs should make it. At least Evans.

After being there 4 years straight, Evans missed last year. He says he is looking to get back there.

Did not know that... But I agree, he should be aiming to get back to that level. He's our best lineman, I don't know if anyone would argue that, though Strief has definitely taken a step in the right direction.

His play dropped, but I think this was due to poor C and LT play. The entire OL struggled last year, because they had to compensate for the missed assignments of those two tools

That and he played through an injury for the first 12 games or so.

probably just Jimmy.

I think Byrd has the next best chance. He can certainly overtake Eric Berry from KC. I think that defense will fall off some this year.

they got a lot of attention because of all the turnovers they got last year and they took a handful of them to the house.

but if they weren't collecting turnovers, they were a leaky defense.

other safeties Byrd will have to compete with for the honor:

Earl Thomas- 1st All-Pro (last year)
Eric Berry- 1st Team All-pro
Kam Chancellor- 2nd team All-Pro
Eric Weddle- 2nd Team
T.J. Ward- 2nd team
Devin McCourty- 2nd team
Antrell Rolle- 2nd team

the Seattle tandem will be tough and so will McCourty I think. New England is going to have a pretty good defense. They will have Revis and Brandon Browner on the outside so that should allow McCourty to roam the middle more and have some nice chances for INT's.

Byrd is so instinctive though. I can't wait for him to get out there. His numbers in Buffalo tell the story. He finds the ball and he makes plays.

He'll get his takeaways.

I think Keenan Lewis is a good player but he'll have to contend with other corners like the loud mouth Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson, Joe Haden, and Aqib Talib.

its doable for Lewis but since Byrd has gotten the recognition before, I like his chances more I guess.

Jordan

That's it.

I've got a good feeling about Jordan this year. I think he'll "break out" even more and establish himself as the premiere 3-4 DE, other than Watt. And yes, I'm aware we play a lot of 4 down linemen sets. Still a 3-4 base.

yeah Jordan will be a national star after this season. He will be in contention for it.

I do realize the All Pro is absolute elite and rarely do multiple players from one team get voted in, but I can see us having 2-3 this year. Graham is a lock barring injury, and that leaves Jordan, Evans, Byrd and Brees as the obvious contenders. I am super high on Lewis (obviously), and I think he will finish the season as a top 2-3 CB. Byrd was a top flight Safety in Buffalo, so imagine what he will do now that he has a legitimate Defense and Offense around him. Regardless if all or none make the list, it will be a fun season to witness and be a part of
