I just "cut the cord" and apparently the router I have been using for EATEL Internet goes with the Cable TV service.

What is the best router out there these days?

The one I just bought and it works great. Future proof too.

Wireless AC is the next revision of the wireless protocol (802.11ac). As you can tell from the title ("AC1750"), when running in wireless AC mode, this runs at 1750 Mbps, or 1.75 Gbps, almost twice as fast as a wired gigabit link. Wireless AC is still relatively new, and as such only very new devices have it

I bought this one recently. Huge upgrade over my early 2000's Blue brick.

The Asus RT-AC66U also gets great reviews.
You can't go wrong with either.

What do you mean goes with the Cable TV service? I have EATEL internet, and they didn't provide a router or modem for use inside the house. They just have 1 ethernet cable that comes into the house. If you still have EATEL's internet service, nothing should change from dropping their cable service.

So is there a less high end router that you all would recommend?
