This is just to make sure that Bonds and Clemens never get in.

Code of conduct eh? Well they need to kick out a few players already in then

They really are doing whatever they can to screw the 90s generation with ex post facto rules. This is an obvious rule change to get the steroid era guys off the ballot. The backlog is so huge, it is already preventing deserving players from getting elected.
It's a terrible rule change, as the problem isn't too many guys getting in, its too few.

The Baseball Hall of Fame holds no special reverence for me. The people who decide who get admitted are the biggest bunch of sycophants while the players are active and then become sanctimonious once the players retire. I do not need their input to decide who is or isn't compelling to watch play the game. And I don't need them to tell me who was exceptional, very good, better than average, average and below average once the players retire.

there was an uproar over Larussa getting in, but if you let Cox and other recent Managers in, u have to let Larussa in.
They all benefited from roiders and Guys jacked up on greenies, etc.

I agree with that, although I feel even worse for the marginal guys who should have made it but never will because steroid ball made their numbers appear irrelevant

The is an excellent book called "The Politics of Glory" about the BS surrounding the baseball HoF.

Manny? I'm not sure but I get his argument.
I also am not sure if Glavine deserves in. Yes good P, but was he product of team or was he that good. I again get his argument, but post season he disappeared.
If the 5 Aces would have stayed healthy and together, would he been ahead of Avery?

I know The crimedog always said those who abused Greenies should be barred as well. He was always adamant about guys abusing greenies and how they were much worse of an issue than Roids.
