Would you pay more to live in a smoke-free apartment?

Some apartments are going smoke-free.

Is it worth it even if you had pay a little more?

I've never lived in apartment where i could tell the previous tenant was a smoker sooo.. Where I live now they don't allow smoking inside, I think.

I never did understand why people smoke inside. Gross. I wouldn't pay more to live in a smoke-free apartment nor complex. I don't care if someone is smoking out in the open.

I would. Not so much for the previous tenants as for the people who are your neighbors. You can smell the nasty frickers puffing away next door..........and well......I own the building. maybe I should go smoke free. It would cut my potential tenants by 70% though.

Apartments in this town are already expensive enough, well over $1k for a 2br place now.

I paid well over that for an apartment in Mandeville.

They don't, but it's not like they monitor every day. I think the worst that could happen is you lose your deposit if they find out after you leave.

An apartment in BR should not be the same price as uptown Dallas.

go to the suburbs in frisco, McKinney, etc, $800-$1200 gets you a luxury apartment. I'm looking at one that overlooks the outfield in the minor league park here. it's like $900 for wood floors, great view, etc.

We can't tell people not to smoke indoors. However, we can charge them for ozone treatments, extra painting, carpet, etc on move out from the smoke damage.

God. You people would have been driven into the sea during the 20th century.

Are y'all offended by everything?

Do you try to have every offending scent banned from existence?

I want to fart in all of these militant "can't smoke anywhere" folks faces.

I never see anyone smoking cigarettes at my apartment. I do smell plenty of pot via my neighbor, but that is of no bother to me.

I went from paying 1200 for a 2BR house in BR to 1500 for an apartment in Chicago. That said, I would take the extra cost and less room to not live in Baton Rouge any day

Great area. My brother has lived there for 10 years and it's crazy how much it's grown.

last time I drove by (about a month ago) they still hadn't cleared the lot. it's right off the tollway on Lebanon, a few blocks from my work.

I do not understand why people smoke inside. It's not hard to step outside and then all of your belongings don't smell like shite.
