18-month-old child is mauled by three pitbulls in Bay Minette, AL

On July 23, 2014, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette, for a dog bite complaint. An 18 month old victim was being treated by medical staff for numerous bites to the face and head. The victim was subsequently transported to the USA Medical Center in Mobile for further treatment. The staff at North Baldwin Infirmary classified the child’s status at that time as critical but stable.
Investigation of the incident revealed that the child’s father, Dylan Stafford and the victim were outside their residence at 14080 Crosby Road in Stockton when the father heard the child cry out. He turned to see (3) pit bulls attacking his child. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital.
During the investigation is was discovered that there are two separate dog owners involved with the three animals. The dogs were quarantined at a local veterinarian’s office.

People need to understand the time it takes to train a regular dog, let alone a pit bull. You have to cage these frickers

I'm not necessarily against pitbulls if raised properly but I feel stories like these will lead to the breed becoming banned.

My pit is the most gentle, sweetest, calmest, child killing time bomb you will ever meet.
You just have to raise them right and hope and pray that the situation doesn't present itself where evolutionary instincts kick in and someone dies. But I'm sure the toddler provoked all three dogs and was posing a clear threat.

Another thing I wanna know is why the frick wasn't the father watching the 18-month old. I mean I know they are already trash for living in Bay Minette but still. If you know that their are multiple baby killing beasts in your trailer park you keep an eye on your baby.

When my pit is around children I am extremely cautious, even though she is fine with them.
She wouldn't hurt a soul and is well trained, but you still have to be careful. That goes for any dog.
