Share your thoughts on why you chose Chevron and I'll tell you my thoughts on Chevron.

Probably the best one you could have selected. However, I consider Chevron, Exxon, and ConocoPhillips to be more or less interchangeable when it comes to DRIPs.

Chevron has had a spectacular year thus far and leads the way in dividend yield (COP isn't far behind)
COP probably has the most room for growth.
XOM has easiest accessibility and non existent fees.

I've been eying chevron lately as well. They've had some lackluster quarters but are in line to get some big deep water gulf projects finally producing in the next couple of years. They also have exposure to Marcellus and a nice Permian position while selling out of some political risks like the recent chad sale. While they have had some negative sentiment one has to like their growth potential more so than other majors, especially if properties like jack/st malo exceed expectations.

I don't ever hear much about RDS (Shell) when these come up. Anybody have any opinions?

I chose TSO as my "Refiner" as I believe they are positioning themselves well for growth within the next 5-10 years.
