For around a year to start up some territory for work. Places to live? Things to do? Advice in general? Anything is appreciate. Even typical OT responses.

Have fun driving in the mountains around there. I felt like I could die at any second.

Pittsburgh is reinventing itself like much of the northern factory towns. It's actually a really gorgeous and fun place.

The West Virginia Turnpike is the best, especially when raining and foggy (fog is a typical thing there).

Went there last month for a wedding. Cool town. The baseball stadium is gorgeous. They have a great natural history museum and pretty cool pub/beer scene from what I understand.

Thanks for the reply guys. The OT always comes through. It should be a fun experience. Louisiana to Pitt for a year should be interesting.

Darryljames, where do you suggest living? I'm just looking for a 1 bedroom apartment that won't break the bank.

Been here 3 years.

Food sucks. I order from Cajun Grocer once a month and we do crawfish and crab boils when we can.

PNC Park is amazing. Saints play in Heinz field in Nov. And Cleveland week 2 (3 hour drive)

Good brown trout fishing north of pittsburh. smallmouth in almost every creek. I do a lot of offroading (just got a SxS) trails are epic.

Don't waste your time going skiing at Seven Springs it sucks. Unless you are just going to party.

women aren't really that bad. Not great outside the city but bars in town have some hotties. Although they somewhat disappear in the winter months. If single get someone you can have sex with during the winter months.

Where will you be working?

Yeah Mt Lebanon area is the norm. Or someone's house on occasion.

This weather is amazing huh?

If you don't want to sweat you don't have to. I love it. The winter isn't really that bad either. Just layer up

It's a fun town. Lots to do, tons of bars, cheap housing, the food's nothing special though. I enjoyed Permonte Bros. if you love sports, there's pro baseball, football, and hockey, ect. The mass transit system is pretty convenient as well. I highly recommend a trip up the fanicular for some cliff side views of the skyline.

That doesn't too bad at all. I'm an independent sales rep so I'll be working out of my apartment as well as traveling around Pitt and the surrounding areas.

3 years and I avoid a few roads. Always miss turns on a select few routes.
Ignore the stop signs on the on ramps for the interstate. How the frick am I supposed to merge onto an interstate from a stop sign

No cops on the interstates. I average 80-85 in a 55 and traffic is not that bad.

If you want to be in an area with walking distance to bars and what not, look around Shadyside, Mt Lebanon, Southside.

Personally I am moving out of the country and back to Kennedy Township. close to everything and no traffic if you want to get anywhere.
