Pass a bill ending Obama phones. Simple one page bill. Send it to Obama and let him veto it.

It is a clear example of welfare few besides those getting it support and it will demonstrate the difference between the parties--hopefully.

Dare Warren to vote against it and run. It might help in the democrat primary but will kill her among independents should she pull a miracle and beat Hillary.

Betcha Hillary will avoid commenting on it BUT may in the general election claim she supported ending them too.

Cut off spending for obama-scam.

Sad that you didn't bother to look into the origins of the lifeline assistance program that began in 2008 three months before the election. You watch too much Faux News.

So why is it still around? Why the hell does the government need to be paying people's phones. They are dirt cheap.

Sad that you didnt realize that this program was initially just for land lines and not cell phones for everyone in a household . You don't watch enough Fox News.

It's cheaper than a land line. It's the smart thing to do, not that that would deter you from trying to tar Obama with it.

The initial program started like 30 years ago. Of course it would move to cell phones.

I guess there is a possibility the republican house would not vote for it.

End it altogether.

Point is make Obama defend it regardless of when it started. It is a simple issue people can understand.

It's smart except for it's dumb. With a landline, addresses can't be duplicated. The Obamaphone program is rife with fraud and duplication as the contractors are obviously incentivized to not police the fraud. If giving away one phone makes a company $20/mo, giving away 3 makes $60/mo.

Are five of them cheaper than a land line?? You actually think people are getting one cell phone per household??

bullshite.

Either way, it should be ended. This whole "Bush started it" childishness should fricking end. Bad policy is bad policy, no matter who was running congress or who was in the white house. Laws and programs should be evaluated on merit and results, not emotion.

This. I am paid to get phone numbers. When I go to retrieve a number from a cell carrier(especially Boost or Cricket), I always get asked about getting a free phone. Not only do they not police it, they are incentivized to give them away.

Also, every time I call AT&T to get a number, I have to listen to a long schpiel about "people that get assistance are entitled to assistance." Every fricking phone call.
