These are the two that I have been looking at to get. Does any have experience with either one?

Married or single? If married, avoid mechanical or you'll drive everyone nuts.

Are you only looking for full sized boards?

No, just looking for a keyboard that is highly responsive and that will hold up well.

Still rocking my logitech g-15. Spilled beer on it and after it dried out it was good to go. You can news feeds, cpu and ram usage monitors, game profiles that show in-game stats (not all games), and can customize the hell out of the "G" keys to perform keystroke, either single clicks or repeated clicks.

What is the difference between a "gaming" keyboard and a normal one?

I have an old crappy dell keyboard that came with my PC years ago so I'm in line for a new one too

Close. You can still get mechanical, you just can't have the blue chips. Get browns or cherry reds on your mechanical and you'll be silent as a mouse.

Marketing, mostly, because there is no standard that defines what a "gaming" keyboard should do.

In terms of actual performance, one of the key advertised features in a keyboard marketed to gamers is "anti-ghosting." Ghosting occurs when certain key combinations don't work (for example, you have W and D pressed to move diagonally and then press G to throw a grenade at the same time). When a key combo doesn't work, it's usually due to the keyboard's column and row wiring. Gaming keyboards advertise the ability to effectively press up to XX keys at once (some overblown unrealistic number). I will say that I've used a mix $9 keyboard and $100 keyboards and have never had a problem with this. I imagine that it would be an issue if you were pressing some odd combo of keys, but a completely acceptable anti-ghosting design has been built into $9 keyboards since the 90s.

But hey, marketing.

The other shite you might see in gaming keyboards are a wide array of programmable macro keys, like the ones on my G510:

Also notice the LED-backlit keys, which is another common feature in gaming keyboards. In particular, on my keyboard I can change the color of the LEDs to literally any RGB color.

The LCD screen is my favorite feature, and not a common feature in other brands. It's spoiled me.

So basically, "gaming" keyboards = LEDs, macros, cool factor, and other bells and whistles.

If you go with the k70, get the blue switches. Blues are the best switches IMO
