So the wife and I have been watching the Walking Dead and now she says she wants a crossbow. Never shot one or even know what brands there are. What is a middle of the road setup that won't break the bank but I can tell her it will still kill a walker with a headshot?

The only thing I can offer is be aware of where your thumb is at all times.

Any of the modern crossbows in your budget will be fine.

After all, they are all made for women.

Barnett is the only way to go IMO... I've got the vengeance. I hunt vertical bow 99% of the time, but its fun to shoot!

Yep - for people starting into the sport this is good advice, I shot a Ghost 400 - my neighbor just bought his son a barnett recruit and we shot it last weekend - for $300 this was a great little package and light.

It's admirable of you to be married to a handicapped woman. A lot of men won't stick it out with a significant other with a disability.

I second the Barnett, I was given a quad 400 as a gift and I enjoy the little bastard.

The crossbow itself is not all that expensive. The real money comes trying to fund her inevitable meth addiction and lawyer fees associated with keeping her out of the clink. Not to mention you'll have to buy multiple house trailers as she will likely run thru several due to mishaps during the operation of her clandestine lab(s). Good luck

Why? Did I piss off a disabled person?
