I decided to focus on the 4 guys we're looking at(Russ/Fells/Young/Withey):

Smith: 16.0 PPG / 6.4 Ast / 5.0 Reb / 1.4 Stl / 43.4% FG / 35.7% 3 PT / 52.9 % FT / 4.2 TO

Fells: 15.0 PPG / 2.6 Reb / 53.8% FG / 48.1 % 3 PTFG

Young: 7.4 PPG / 8.0 Reb / 0.8 BLK / 48.8% FG 46.7% FT

Withey: 7.0 PPG / 6.4 Reb / 2.0 Blk / 40% FG 64.7% FT

NBA.com didn't update yet but I added todays games In myself.

Russ's only issue is shooting(and TOs but meh) but he's looked better since the first half of game 1. He's contributing everywhere else(7.2 ast/5.7 reb/2 stls) and playing his advertised D.

Fells is shooting at a ridiculous rate and his wingspan will help his D. He's pretty much what we're looking for in a shooter.

Withey and Young are playing about the same amount of minutes(JW: 25.5/Young: 24) but withey has looked worse offensively and has only beaten young in Blks(his best asset) and FT%.

Young for some reason got zero shot attempts today so it could've looked even more in his favor.

7/19: Updated through 5

Yeah I think he's still leading the league. He's a very impressive passer.

On the flip side, Withey's FG% not even being in the 40's is not good on so many levels.

I don't see why he's struggling so bad. His blocks are nice but he's regressed imo.

Young has just looked better.

"Best playmaker: Russ Smith | New Orleans Pelicans

"Russdiculous" has become a pass-first show in Vegas, sometimes to the point where Smith has been too unselfish looking for teammates. Nobody can stay in front of Smith on the perimeter, allowing him to dish out a league-best 7.7 assists per game. Only one other player (Ray McCallum of the Sacramento Kings) is averaging even five assists."

Yeah it's Summer League, but I don't see how you can't be happy with Smith, Young and Fells.

Overrated parts of the game anyway.

Just messing with you dude. I know he's ya boy. I'm pulling for him too.

Outside of that bad first half in the first game he's been shooting at around 45% so that's good.

The TOs have more to do with usage and his own play style which can be fixed easily enough with coaching/Experience.

yikes. i think this guy can be a body banger for 8-10 mpg, but he's gotta get that FT% up so it won't turn into hack a Young.

He's shooting 15 times a game in under 30 MPG, too

Yeah, that is a bit concerning. Maybe he has less drive than those other guys? I'd say he is pretty much guaranteed a roster spot, right?

Withey impressed me a lot last year, I really hope he has a spot on the team.

I think we're going to have the best rim protection in the league this season

Did you forget that Jrue made the ASG 2 years ago?

Wasn't Jrue declared "untouchable" ?

I think that term is used too lightly. Only a few players in the league should truly be considered "untouchable" , Anthony Davis being one.

Shooting is something that can be worked on over the long haul. Basketball smarts is not as easy to come by.

Like Rivers, we need him to be solid at the FT line, develop a decent long range shot, to keep teams honest, and the ability to finish at the cup.

I don't want to trade Jrue, I was just pointing out mgmt's stance with him.

Hack a whoever only turns into an issue when said player is on the floor late in close games.

Barring unforeseen injury or foul trouble, no way Young is on the floor over AD, Asik, Ryno, or Ajinca.
