UPDATE: Went with Cox Internet. Went with the 5mbps package and got it for $19.99 for the first 12 months, and $44.99 after. Advertised price is $34.99, but I got a deal. Also kept my current TV package(with cox) and just added the SEC Network for $5.
-----------------------------------------------
I'm currently with U-Verse
I'm was paying for the 3.0 MBPS package (which is slow, but I'll let it slide). Internet guy comes to repair my modem and is conducting tests, and says I'm not available for 3.0 OR 1.5, and dropped me to 0.768 MBPS. I'm not on contract or anything, and I'm not dealing with that.
What are some good internet options?
I'm not looking for anything extremely fast. To be honest, I'm fine with 6.0 MBPS. I don't play online games or anything. I'm just looking for something that will load HD streaming for the tv shows that I watch (GOT, etc).
I live in the Lafayette area, FYI

You should look into some wireless options. Possibly Verizon. Their speeds are likely faster than what you will get from ATT land lines. That is of course, unless your Cable provider provides internet in your area. Cable would be ideal.

Can you not get LUS?
$34 for 20x20 is a great price even if you don't need that much speed.
Hell, if you can settle for 3x3 you can get it in for $20.

Having had to rely on my phone alone the past couple weeks, I will never buy anything based on gigs. I blow through them streaming.
