I am moving to a new house in Tuscaloosa in a few weeks and I'm deciding between Comcast and At&t Uverse. From what I hear Comcast is close to finalizing a deal with the SEC Network so for the sake of argument let's assume that both will have it.

For $84 a month (according to the website) I will be able to get the U200 channel package, 45mbps internet, and a DVR.

Not sure on the pricing for Comcast for a similar package.

My s/o and I use the internet a lot, simultaneously watching Netflix while I use my Xbox One for gaming.

So my question is this: how have people's experiences been with At&t? Should I switch to it?

Well I appreciate all the links to the threads comparing Uverse to Cox, the latter is not an option in my area.

I know this is an LSU/Louisiana board but I was hoping someone from Alabama would chime in.

Though it seems from what I've read Uverse's internet is not worth the switch if Comcast gets SEC Network.

Pay particular attention to the discussions of internet in those threads. They are essentially comparisons of u-verse vs. cable internet. Doesn't matter if it's cox or comcast. Lots of testimonials from U-verse subscribers for both services as well.

Best Comcast deal is HD Preferred Plus triple play for $99.99. Includes HBO and Starz, Extreme 105 Internet and your choice of phone or home security. Upgrade free box to X1 dvr for $5. Wifi modem rents for $8.
Extreme 105 usually goes for $89.99 by itself.

Make you understand that all of those prices amd packages are introductory offers that will go up later.

Pricing tiers. Expect about a 20-25$ increase for months 13-24 unless you do a price-lock agreement. Trick is to stay on promotional rate.

Uverse internet is good but their tv is crap. Directv blows them out of the water

45mbps internet
That's slow man. For someone who games and watches Netflix at the sametime. For $84 though I guess it fits the bill.

You can get DirecTV for year w/ 200+ channels, 3 months free Shotime, HBO, etc., and the Sunday ticket for about $45/month first year. Second year it kicks up to about $95/month. Doesn't include internet, but it's still a pretty dam good deal...Does Alabama not have Brighthouse? Must just be a FL thing. That's what I have, pay $130 for all the channels + 70/mbs internet...Moving in a month of so though and plan on keeping their internet, but switching to DirecTV for cable so I can get the Sunday ticket.
