Quicker places to get DL other than the DMV?

We all absolutely hate that DMV line when all we need is our drivers license renewed
Who's found a quick place that does DL renewals either in the Baton Rouge area or surrounding cities?
TIA

That place is pretty shitty last time I went. Maybe it was because it was a Monday, though.

I renewed my license last week online and within a week they had sent me a whole new card in the mail. Was very easy.

Most the auto title places can do them

Can't you only renew in the mail every other time though?

I'm in a messed up boat.
I went to renew my license and found it had been suspended because I didn't pay a ticket in Giddings Texas in 2008 and it's just now showing up. The letter the DMV says they mailed never showed up, then on top of owing $644 in Texas, I owe $500 for not turning in plates for the last two cars I sold, then $125 reinstatement.
Arggh nice way to start the week. $1200 in unexpected fees.
I'm a moran for not paying the Texas ticket, but I wasn't speeding and the trooper was a dick and the court date was on a day I couldn't make. So I figured as long as I stayed clean in Texas I was fine.
What gets me the most is the Texas ticket in Lee county, I have to pay some law firm in Round Rock, which seems sketchy.
$322.40 for the speeding ticket then $322.40 for failure to appear.
that is just insane.
hate that crap, but then I drive all day every day and can't risk having a suspended DL.
So I'm rubbing the Vaseline on my sphincter now.

Reciprocal agreements mean your history now follows you from state to state.

What are you asking? You want a DL through some entity other than the DMV? Because that won't work. A DL is a government issued ID, thus you need to issuing gov. entity to provide the service.
Are you talking about the specific main DMV building in BR?

yeah I didn't know that.
I honestly got pulled over for the crime of having out of state plates.
I was in the right lane of 290 heading to Houston from Austin. I had just gotten passed by a minivan and a truck when the cop got behind me.
I didn't even think he was pulling me over. I was actually slowing down to get gas. He turned on the lights and I pulled up to the pump.
He then tried saying I wasn't compling correctly.
He asked to search the truck. I said "no" so he searched it anyway. He took all the suitcases out, and went through them. Asked if I had a gun. I told him I didn't. But he said he didn't believe me and proceeeded to brake the center console, which I TOLD him had an issue with the latch.
He didn't find anything. I had nothing.
He then tells me I was doing 80 in a 55. The speed limit was 65, I was probably doing 70.
The speed limit sign for 55 was up ahead and he pointed it to me. I told him the limit starts AT THE SIGN not in view. He said the limit starts as soon as YOU SEE the sign, which is BS.
I wasn't mouthy, I was polite. I asked when the court date was because I wanted to present my case. I also asked to see the radar. Which he said he didn't have to show me.
I took my ticket and said "frick Lee County" (in my head, lol)
I saw the court date was in like two weeks. No way I would make that long drive for it.
I just put the ticket out of my mind.
Until 7/14/14 when I find that my damn license is suspended. I think that means I could even go to jail. Could lose my insurance too. So I HAVE to pay this ticket ASAP>
Just sucks. nothing I can do. But hijack a thread to vent.

Port Allen ... got there at 7:30 a.m. and in and out in by 8:10 (they don't open until 8:00 but people line up early)

You can only do it online if they mail you a renewal notice ...mine expires in a few weeks and I just tried it and got a big ol' STOP sign. I felt like I was reading a whacked thread.
Oh, shite, the DMV Express on Siegen isn't listed anymore in EBRP DMV locations. Is it still open?!?

I told my cousin the exact same thing. "Go to ABC Title on Vets, you'll be done in 5 minutes". he didn't believe me and went the DMV route like an idiot.

I stopped at the DMV in Winnfield on my way to Ruston a few weeks back. No line, two workers. Done in 5 minutes. So maybe drive up to Clinton or Greensburg, or stop in some podunk Parish that you happen to be traveling thru.
