Pipeline to Cass Tech in Detroit

I believe with a little effort LSU could build a pipeline to Cass Tech high school in Detroit, Michigan, if it desired. I've noticed that almost all high ranked Cass Tech football players list LSU as a school of interest.
I have made it a point to check that when I see a high ranked Cass Tech player. There is a 2017 CB that lists Michigan State, Michigan and LSU.
If we put on the full court press at that school, it would be ours. Or at least any leaving the state would be ours. LSU must be highly thought of at that school. They seem to have at least 1 high ranked player every year. As we all know Joseph Barksdale is an active NFL player from there who attended LSU.

LSU is a national powerhouse. Nearly every recruit wants an offer from us. Doesn't mean they're dying to come to school here.

With little effort?? If it was that easy, we would already have that pipeline.
We got 1 player from there.... It's very very far. We won't be building a pipeline there. Hell we have trouble getting players from "pipeline" in state schools to come to LSU.

LSU will never have a pipeline in the state of Michigan. Come on man, Michigan? Long way and a state full of football tradition. We'll go broke trying to bring in 1 guy a year there. Any new pipeline that needs to be built should go to Houston, first. imo.

That's the proof that the effort is already there.

LSU is a national brand now, and we are seeing guys come in from places where LSU rarely got players: IL, NC, SC, NJ, etc.
The reality is however that LSU could build a national championship program with guys solely from 3 states: LA, TX, FL. No other pipelines needed

Alt26-While I agree with you I would also add Ga. to the mix. LSU have done quite well in the state of Ga.

OK guys, typical responses for the mentalities on here. The bully mentality that is. But I guarantee you there is no other school outside the south where virtually every top 100 player lists LSU as one of their schools of interest. Not Alabama, not USC, not many of the other national names, but LSU. Its a bit more than you great minds give credit for or can comprehend.

And by the way... You went from "LSU should build a pipeline from Cass Tech in fricking Detroit. I mean we did sign 1 player from there so it should be easy" to "we are listed as a choice for all the top 100 players and nobody else is." Oh and we are all bullies. Great thread....

KG is a knowledgeable guy. He knows what he's talking about on here.
LSU is good at recruiting, but u have to be realistic.
Players have a desire to play in the SEC. Even the ones that know, they arent going that far to school, still want the big name SEC offer on the resume. LSU doesnt mind being 4th or 5th on a 4 or 5* player 4-5 states away; May get a visit, probably will not.
When u get more than 2-3 states away, it will always be tough sledding to establish any consistency in recruiting.
The majority of kids want to play close to home and so do their families. Thank goodness.

Yep. Miami did it in one county. Plenty of talent between 3 states.
