Apple is expected to unveil its first wearable device in October, which is likely to be the oft-rumored “iWatch,” but a new report claims that production of the smart watch will not ramp up until a few months later. According to well-sourced KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a fairly accurate track record at reporting on Apple product plans, the iWatch will not enter mass production until November.

I wonder if it will be unveiled at the September or October event.

That's good looking but does it resemble a regular watch face normally? I'm Android and am waiting for the moto watch.

Oh OK. I hope they try to make it look good and like a regular watch. I hope to God fads on watches don't come back like the calculator watch was. Just as a functional watch and not nice looking.

I really thing it's going to be a band

I don't get the hype for these. They look terrible. Do FAR less than your phone.
And given that apple people always mock larger phones, the watches don't do much and yet they are 56X larger than a normal watch.

I don't think anyone outside of Apple has a clue about the design. I've seen so many different visual representations of it I can't count them all.

That's kind of where I am. It's wearable...that's great and all, but it has 1/10th the functionality of my iphone? Just don't see the point.

I really don't think the point of these will be marketed to replace any kind of phone or tablet. If anything, I think the most use you could get out of it is when it's connected to your phone and you can see all your notifications there.
Now I'm real interested to see what they do with it as far as a standalone item.

THIS.
I have had no interest in smart watches that are already on the market due to them seeming to be an extension of your phone only. I want a good looking Men's/Womens watch that happens to be a sweat arse smart watch. If they do this with the sapphire crystal face AND the rumors about iphone6 are true to some degree, I think that would compel me to make my first apple phone purchase ever.

None of the mock ups are true.

Honestly, I don't see the first few generations doing much as a stand alone item. I do see it coming packed with sensors that the iPhone doesn't have to give better feedback.

That's basically what I just said

Do they have all in one chips for Bluetooth/Wifi/4G/2G If not I would imagine the small size of these watches would make it hard to duplicate a phones connectivity options which it would need to do to be a stand alone product. Also, I don't think Siri is good enough yet for this to work as a standalone, or at least your primary communications device.

Even if they do, cell radios are a huge battery drain.
