Well that was shite. I'll gladly take a clean sheet and 3 points but I can't say I'm too encouraged at that performance

Not a lot of time to reflect on this one either. Another huge must-win match on Monday.

shite I forgot we play on Monday. I prolly won't be able to watch.

And I agree that Can needs to play more. If we stick with the 3-4-3, I'd like to see him paired with Lucas to help control the midfield better. Gerrard just doesn't fit in this formation IMO

Gerrard likely needs a rest anyway. Lots of games these days, and some rotation is necessary.

Haven't posted in the thread in a while, but god if this team just doesn't make sense to me sometimes. Play like arse and get the 3 points against Burnley, but play the best football I've probably seen us play in months against the gooners and Skrtel has to bail us out after fricking us over in the first place to save a point

Interesting that we've gone to the 3-4-3 in the past few matches. We seem to have played better with it but jesus do we ever need Studge back.

Really glad we have the extra day break.

Burnley found some soft spots in our defense. Swansea is very good at exploiting that through movement. We need all the work we can get on it.

I think BR will ride this 3-4-3, but I personally think its not the best formation for every opponent. Especially with Markovic having to play so much defense.

Today has started off well.

Two teams we want to catch tied.

Southampton plays Chelsea.

Arsenal and West Ham play eachother. A tie would be great.

We play Swansea. So every team ahead of us plays a good team or another team we want to catch.

Results go our way, we could be 4 points out of 4th halfway through the league. 3 tomorrow is imperative either way.

What's the formation? I could see it several ways, but sure seems like can at lb

Eta - never mind. Must be 3 at back with Moreno and manquillo at wing backs

I think it is similar to what we've been seeing but with proper fullbacks as the wingbacks.

I actually enjoyed the first half for once in a long time... Would have liked another..

I really like these 3 at CBs, given our choices..

Shelvey is lucky to be on the pitch, though I wouldn't have sent him off...

Very nice play in the final third. Got nervous around the 38' mark or so when they had those chances clustered, but it seemed like everyone marked their man and did well.

Coutinho came to play today finally. Lallana creating good chances, amd Moreno had a great run on his goal.

Good outing thus far for the Reds.

ETA: Wtf!? Lallana gets a goal by challenging the GK and then we give up an easy goal with Skrtel ball watching.

Coutinho with a BEAUTIFUL backheel to Lallana for his second goal. Gorgeous play there!

ETA: Own goal by Shelvey off a Hendo corner. 4-1 Hello 8th place and good momentum for the second half of the season, should we keep up.

Finally... It's been a long time since I could enjoy the last part of the match on a much deserved win... A couple of lucky goals, but well deserved still...

Raheem is lucky not to be sent off, but oh well...

If Cou could ever add more goals, he'd be so dangerous..

Who knew that a natural midfielder is a better centerback than almost all our natural centerbacks.
