Verizon to make a smart phone

Just spoke with a Verizon guy. He said verizon was gonna be coming out with a smart phone by the end if the year. He said it'd be like a cross between an android and a windows phone. Anybody got any inside info on this. I'll be eligible for an upgrade soon. Should I get an iPhone 6 or this?

A Verizon phone would be the absolute last thing I would ever buy. Imagine all the bullshite software they could stuff onto something that they make.

If verizon is making a phone it'll be Ellipsis branded and targeted toward the low end/budget customer if I has to guess.
