Autopsy shows he inhaled smoke, meaning he was alive when set on fire
Now his 15-year-old cousin, Tariq Abu Khder has been beaten by police
Footage has emerged seeming to show officers kicking him in the head while he is on the ground before dragging his semi-conscious body away
Was protesting cousin's death at the time and police say he resisted arrest

Awful. They do claim he had a slingshot, and was doing more than protesting. Regardless, the whole scene reflects the hatred which continues to prevent peace.

Play stupid games...win stupid prizes.

I'm no fan of the "authorities', etc. But, if you live in a box full of kindling, don't be surprised when someone dislikes your playing with matches.

If this is the kid I'm thinking of, Israeli officials claim he attacked the police with a knife before the video started.

LINK

quote:

Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Daniel Danon told FOX News this morning the teen was beaten after attacking police with a knife.

quote:

“When you look at the pictures it doesn’t look so good. But, when you look at the pictures before you had six teenagers being involved with knives attacking the police officers. And when they were able to arrest them they resisted the arrest. So, I’m not happy about the picture. It will be fully investigated but sometimes when somebody is attacking a police officer with a knife the use of force, not just in the US, but in Israel (is necessary). So you have to look at the full picture.”

Well said. And who (besides some idiots on this board) could blame a kid for picking up a slingshot after what happened to his cousin.

Shows why the death of the other 3 kids should be kept in perspective.

I hear so much about the atrocities committed by Israel...yet never peep about Iran, Syria, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia...those countries are obviously full of freedom and have never done anything even remotely questionable to any citizen ever.

anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. That is why stupid shite like this, that occurs daily in every country everywhere regardless of the freedoms enjoyed or not enjoyed is INTERNATIONAL NEWS. It's international news because it is Israel. I guess what is so annoying is people won't just admit it, they are so dishonest about it (maybe even with themselves)

Please don't tell me you're opposed to protests. Do you also think Black folks had it coming when when Bull Connor and other southerm law enforcement used beat the crap out of Black folks on a regular basis?

If you watch the videos of this incident ... looks to me to be staged for this very purpose.

Looks to me like the people with the cameras convinced the young kid that he'd be taking an arse whoopin' for the cause.

That's my bet.

I don't equate these two. You are free to do so. I simply do not.

#2-1st world fame without responsibility or accountability? They can practice all the apartheid they want and no one with the ability to do something about it seems to care.

Saddam takes over Kuwait and millions of troops swarm overnight. population of kuwait same as arab population in Israel....houses bulldozed, hotels bombed(king david), yada,yada,yada.....no one cares, it's cool

We had like four threads about the Israeli kids who were shot and this is the first one I've seen about the Palestinian kid or his Pal-American cousin.

It's international news because it is Israel. I guess what is so annoying is people won't just admit it, they are so dishonest about it (maybe even with themselves)
Actually it's INTERNATIONAL NEWS because Israel made a huge deal about three kids being kidnapped and started arresting hundreds of Palestinians and cracking down on Hamas during the "search." Then the bodies were found, the autopsy and recording came out, and the press realized they knew from the start that the kids were murdered during the phone call and the entire thing was a pretext. Then six Israeli ultras abducted a Palestinian kid outside a mosque, dragged him behind a car, then burned him alive. Then some cops cuffed his American cousin and beat on him, but it's okay because he had a slingshot and cops always tell the truth in situations involving excessive force.

When Israel and Palestine are at the brink of a possible new war, these things tend to make the news.

No, Israeli police say he had a slingshot and was protesting with other people who had knives. You're falling for the easy trick of association; mention him in the same breath with other teenagers who had knives, suddenly you think he has a knife.
LINK
quote:

The Israeli police say the youth resisted arrest and attacked police officers. He was detained with a slingshot in his possession used to hurl stones at police, along with six other protesters, including some armed with knives, police said, adding that several officers were hurt in that specific protest, one of many that day.

It's pretty clear the cops were doing what cops anywhere do in situations like this; capture a straggler and work out their frustrations. Dunno why you think Israeli cops would be magically more civilized than US cops.

I wouldn't blame anyone for being angry at that situation. But choices (whether good or bad) have consequences (both good and bad).

If the police came into my home and killed my family for no reason, would anyone be mad at me for driving to the police station to shoot the people who did it? Probably not, but it's fully expected that they will kill me when I do so.

People have freedom of speech (among other things), but not freedom from consequences.

A teenager in a protest using a slingshot at the cops, if that's what happened, justifies an arrest. It doesn't justify a beatdown. Don't give me that shite about "actions have consequences," as if cops aren't moral actors of their own and police brutality is some abstract force of nature.

ignoring the obvious lie that is this post, you must be impossibly naïve. Another reason I am convinced you're just the typical jew hater. What alternative do you seek? it is the same for the typical religious state argument that anti semites, like yourself, tend to make. As if the alternative, that you support, isn't state sponsored religion, intolerant, murderous, etc...you know, like the other countries in the ME. BTW, have you ever even been to the region? And I'm not talking about Israel, I'm talking about any other country in the ME.

yeah, kid visiting doesn't know to run like the other kids. how does he have a slingshot? He probably did what every "non-guilty" person does in the US....not run from police.

at best they found a slingshot on the ground from one of the kids that ran and they claim it is his.

meh...a 15 year old got roughed up. I don't like kids...so, I'm okay with this

Actually, I do not trust the Police, the family, or CERTAINLY the Press to tell the true story.

So, I'm just not going to give a sick rat's arse about that entire shite-hole of the Middle East
