DWI checkpoints is the best you could come up with for the fourth?

No shite. DWI checkpoints are the least of my concerns when it comes to the 4th Amendment being trampled upon.

You clearly don't know what the first amendment protects

(most) everyone agrees there should be some limit to what "arms" a private citizen should have access to. The argument is just where that line should be drawn.

I'll give you that

WMD is the only line I have. Other than that, I should be able to own a stealth fighter if I want to.

How is it that so many people don't understand the first amendment?

Those are all controlled by societal acceptance, not forced by government. You can legally scream the N word at the top of your lungs...but people will disassociate themselves from you as a consequence. I think their is a battleground in regards to religious liberty though...Hobby Lobby case as an example.

The 2nd is obviously a battleground that comes up a lot.

Fourth: NSA, IRS targeting, etc. A lot of it a result of the Patriot Act.

I understand it fine. Political correctness is not currently close to a violation of the first. But everything is a spectrum, this could be step one to what eventually is the government regulation of speach. My post is about the "current battlegrounds" and I stand by my original post.

ETA: Tenth: Common Core

Since "political correctness" is so vague as to be meaningless these days, please explain how "the n-word" is a Constitutional battleground. Did those sneaky petes in Congress outlaw it while I wasn't looking?

LOL

Look, I admit, we, as a country, are doing pretty good on the first. I had to list "political correctness" as the "current battleground." Now the IRS targeting, that is an actual violation.

Didn't the government office that regulates trademarks and patents recently deem the term "Redskins" as offensive? Sounds like a classic violation of the First Amendment.

This is an almost impossibly large leap of logic.

The Tenth Amendment has been slowly dying since the 1930's.

ETA: Common Core is the brainchild of the National Governors' Association, not the federal government.

Parents allowing their children to be exclusively educated by the government and taking no part in what their children learn, in or out of the classroom. (ex: sex ed)
