He's become one of my favorite players to watch this World Cup. He has an incredible passion for his country and watching the way he treated James today after the match seemed incredibly classy. I remember being upset after he flopped when Rafael tried to kick him two years ago, but there were plenty of times today when he could have gone down today but stayed on his feet. So people smarter than me, is there a good reason to not like him unless you hate PSG? (I don't know if that qualifies as a good reason either)

He is a likable dude from my perspective... though some question his ability as a top CB..

He hasnt done anything that Ive seen to make me dislike him. He seems like a likable guy and a good guy. He is also loaded with talent.

But, like TFTC said, everyone isnt sold on him as a CB. Mostly due to the fact that he likes to get forward so much that he kinda leaves some players out to dry. But he also is really good going forward because he is so talented on the ball.

It's hard not to like a guy who gives 100%, 100% of the time.

I used to not like Luiz, but he's winning me over.

Their loss...I have always been a David Luiz fan, and in the game today he was all over the field, played at 110% level!

I used to not like him because he played for Chelsea. What I saw today from him definitely made me a fan.

Not really. They got £50M for him, which, no matter how much you like him, is more than he's worth.

For 50 million we probably had to sell him but I will miss him greatly. Dude is crazy as hell on the field and I wouldn't really want him as a full time CB on my team but you can never ever question his passion or ability. I really, really wanted to see him playing beside Matic in front of our back 4. The only thing that could console me is if we get Pogba. The fact that the reality is we sold him to sign Costa makes me sick to my stomach.

He's been a joy to watch this tournament before during and after the matches. Outside of James and probably Messi he's also probably been the best player of the tournament.

LOL. The fee alone caused him to be sold. That and the fact he lost his mind every now and then defensively. I don't think you'll find many people that don't like him. As a Chelsea fan, he was a likable guy that gave his all and enjoyed life as much as he did soccer. I will always be a Luiz fan.

I only watched costa in the World Cup and never saw him play for atletico. I'm very curious to see what he can do for chelsea.

He played for Chelsea which us why I never liked him, but I've been impressed this tourney. Hes actually playing up to his price tag, which is beyond ridiculous. Problem.is will he continue when he's not wearing his flag.

Thiago Silva/Luiz as a pairing for PSG has the potential to be nasty as hell.

Too bad they'll only play about 8-10 meaningful matches a year.

He better score some damn goals. Otherwise, we signed a major douche that doesn't score goals.
