About 12 months away.

Want to see the young boys on the team and playing an impactful role. Erik Palmer-Brown perhaps?

Who's in/out for the squad in your eyes?

Outs: Davis, Zusi, Wondolowski and Jones won't be there because it's in America and he'll be 33. Just think he may decide against it.

And, you have to ask it, does Landon make the squad? I say no.

What does this Gold Cup mean regarding the Confederations Cup? I recall something changing about this, I think.

If we win, we go to the Confed Cup. If someone else wins, they have to play a home/home playoff for a Confed Cup berth since we won it in 2013.

It's only a year away. Jones isn't going to deteriorate overnight. Landon will not make the squad.

If we win it, we play in the 2017 CC

If we lose, we play the winner in a playoff of sorts to see who goes to the CC.

I think Zusi is still on the roster. Kid is only 27.

If we don't win we will enter a playoff with the team that does for that spot. If we do win it that won't matter anymore.

I don't think this roster will look much different. a few faces will drop off and a few new ones will appear.

I think Boyd has a good shot as Wondo's replacement.

Gotta think it will be mostly youngsters, the only Europeans on the roster will be the young ones (I'd think).

Guys like Yedlin and Green will play a big part.

Does Guzan get the top GK spot with Rimando and either Johnson or Hamid behind them? Or does Howard get a swansong and we test the next MNT keeper at Copa America... lots to look forward to after this WC.

I think Howard is still our first choice keeper as long as he is the first choice keeper at Everton or announces international retirement, whichever comes first.

Has he been seeing any first team time at Southampton or is Boruc getting all the starts? Once he gets some consistent first team time there I can absolutely see him slotting in. What is it with this country and goalkeepers?

Yedlin, Green, Brooks, Mix, Terrance Boyd, Brek Shea, Agudelo, Emerson Hyndman, Luis Gil, Will Packwood, and Erik Palmer-Brown are some young guys that will get some consideration as Jurgen prepares for a new cycle.

(Gedion Zelalem and Darlington Nagbe if they become USMNT eligible)

I'd guess at least 5-10 of those young guys make the Gold Cup 2015 squad.

I really hope he gets his shite figured out. I've been a fan of his since watching him be far and away the best player on our U-23 team for the Olympic qualifiers a few years ago. The injury hampered his move to Stoke (which was questionable anyway) then the new boss came in and for some reason he just didn't fit in. I would really expect to see him move along in this transfer window unless plans for him have changed.

If he can get some consistent time, I think he could be the dynamic wing player we need and lacked (outside of Fabian and Yedlin). Right now, our best outside mids are "possess then cross types" whereas Brek can take defenders on and make his own chances to finish, cross, or set something up.
