This is where we've come to.....

quote:

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

quote:

“There were several of us who wanted to talk about the camps, but the agents made it clear we would be arrested,” a psychiatric counselor told me. “We were under orders not to say anything.”

quote:

The sources say security forces called themselves the “Brown Shirts.”

quote:

She said children in the camp had measles, scabies, chicken pox and strep throat as well as mental and emotional issues.

“It was not a good atmosphere in terms of health,” she said. “I would be talking to children and lice would just be climbing down their hair.”

quote:

“They’re going to crush the system,” the nurse told me. “We can’t sustain this. They are overwhelming the system and I think it’s a travesty.”

This is a massive issue that should be at the forefront of this discussion.

A massively non-immunized, sick population could cause serious health problems in our country.

Well, technically, they can talk about the general existence of the diseases and that they are present in this population.

Exactly. And these are only the ones we know about. What about all the thousands who are not in one of these camps? We are inviting a humanitarian disaster on am unimaginable scale. And what's pathetic is the Dems are encouraging this because they know it will benefit them politically.

Think about this.... They're willing encourage tens of thousands of CHILDREN to risk their lives by crossing some of the worst conditions in the world and in the process are inviting a fricking deadly outbreak of god knows what in this country all so they can get more potential voters.

They could, but you've been in hospital settings. You're taught if your in a "fuzzy area" err on the side of not saying anything. This isn't some wild concept.

In your professional opinion, is talking about the general health of the incoming immigrant population a fuzzy area?

That's like saying we can't talk about the Black population has a higher rate of sickle cell.

Agreed, but there is a difference between reporting the existence of a disease and talking about a patient.

You can speak in generalities without giving up PHI.

No.

But I also have my suspicions about this piece. I find it comical how people on this board totally hate and distrust everything about the media......unless its an article that reinforces preconceived notions. I'm not talking this article totally at face value. I highly doubt a doctor would be arrested for saying "you know, alot of these patients here aren't very healthy."

Agreed. So you find absolutely nothing fishy with this OP? Trust it word for word? These doctors will be arrested under what charge? Let me know when the first doctor gets arrested and I will lend it more credence.

So the people being quoted in this story are liars then? Gotcha.
