I need a new phone because mine has started to die on me. I have tentatively narrowed it down to the LG G2 and the Droid MAXX (they are both free, I have Verizon). The G2 seems to be the more forward thinking and have the cooler features but I currently have the LG spectrum 2 and after a few months it started acting up (I've had two, they both did it). I have had Droids in the past and loved them. Battery life isnt a huge issue since the LG is good while the MAXX is great. I don't like big bulky cases and the Droid seems to be more durable out of the box so that could make a difference.

TLDR; Basically, how is the reliability on the G2 now that it has been out a while?

This. I just cracked the screen on mine a few weeks ago, but it still works. Waiting this shite out for the G3.

Battery life on my G2 is pretty phenomenal... but I came from a Galaxy Nexus, which was awful. I regularly get 5+hrs of screen-on time.

I think the release date for the G3 is the 17th so I would just wait.

No i want a free one . Im a broke college student, for a few more weeks anyway. The G2 seems to have the better features but im just scared of LG because my Spectrum 2's were built like crap. I know it isnt their flagship phone like the G2 so thats why Im considering the G2, hoping the G2 has a much higher build quality.

Im just really wondering in the 10 months or so theyve been out, how has the G2 held up, quality wise.

Also with the updates coming to the MAXX can you open apps and get them to do different things with the touchless controls? Basically, can i open Spotify and play one of my Playlists all with touchless controls?

I don't really love either phone, but the don't let your LG spectrum trough you off from the G2. Worlds apart.

How long have you had it? And does it still function pretty close to how it did new?

G2 has great battery life as well. Great camera, and a beautiful screen. LG's skin is like a Samsung touch wiz knock off and is really the only con I can think of. Nothing that can't be solved with some simple customization.
