I know of a few trashy ones that have gone up to the justice of the peace on a weekday but never a full wedding.

Why is it smart and not completely selfish to tell everyone you know to take off some days of work for you?

It's much cheaper for the venue rental. A coworker got married on a Sunday night at The Rose Garden. He was bragging about how much cheaper it was. I didn't go.

Maybe the venue they really wanted is booked and a weekday was the only time they could get it close to when they wanted to get married?

This but apparently you are selfish if you don't have the money or want to save.

I don't think its selfish but dont be surprised if no one wants to come to your wedding on a weekday or night.

Maybe offering it on a week night is the only way they could afford to shower you in free food and drinks to celebrate how much they love each other.

The only people I know of that have done a weekday wedding did it either on Valentine's Day or to celebrate an anniversary of the day they started dating. (Not counting Friday nights and Sundays, which people do all the time 'cause it's cheaper and easier to book those days.)

The kids have to go back to the other parent the next day..Gives the "newlyweds" a week together without them

So going to the justice of the peace to legally marry is considered trashy?

Sounds like a good way to avoid having people you don't want at your wedding.
