my kids have older android devices that they've dropped/thrown/immersed in water that simply won't die.

the problem is these phones are long in the tooth and running bloated tmobileware.

anyway a couple of clicks to root and install rom manager and these 5 year old phones are almost back to brand new running pemberrom2 (a variation of cyan9)

kids are stoked! the phones are rocking again.

Thats awesome!

How is the battery life? Do you experience any lag?

i did a bit of research before selecting the rom and wasn't impressed with the 2 'official' ROMs (cyan7 & cyan9) so i came across the pemberrom which is cyan on steroids.

the battery life is insane on these probably because they're older & slower. 2 days of usage easily.

as for the lag; its actually much crisper now with the new ROM. obviously these are really old phones so the bar is low; but its like they got a shot of steroids when i put the new system on them.

of course my kids will slow them down with tons of apps soon enough.

It is great to have such a low spec phone on a nice version on Android. Great that it is faster now too.

Any problem with data, calling or camera? I know I had problems with data when my OG Droid was on Cyanogenmod, but this was long ago.
