Curious if the two that passed were wearing seatbelts or not. Just one of those things I feel we should be enforcing a lot more. 23 is too young

According to a poster on the SEC Rant who was friends with one of the guys who was killed, none of them were wearing seatbelts.

So sad. Could have easily been any of my friends not wearing a seatbelt late at night.

Thoughts and prayers going out to his family, friends, and Auburn.

He did have hip surgery his senior year. Don't know if that contributed to his inability to make the Rams or not.

Was writing a little and recently did this article for SB Nation

I don't think "seatbelts" are the issue.

I think alcohol is the issue, most-likely.

"The one-vehicle accident occurred at roughly 3:05 a.m. outside of LaGrange, Ga., said Gordy Wright, the director of the Georgia State Patrol's Public Information Office.

The 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe containing Lutzenkirchen and three others ran a stop sign and careened out of control for roughly 450 feet before overturning several times, coming to a rest on its roof.

Lutzenkirchen and the driver, Joseph Ian Davis, were killed. Another two passengers were taken to West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

In a statement, Wright said blood was drawn from the driver to determine if alcohol impairment was a contributing factor to the accident."

Not wearing seatbelts is an issue in this case. The other will be determined at a later date.

Alcohol will always be an issue, but you have to admit in a flipping car, I'll bet the guy with a seatbelt survives over the guy without one.

Look at what happened to that teenage girl that was sitting on some guy's lap in a car (alcohol played a factor iirc). Everyone else had a seatbelt, she was ejected because she didn't have one. She was the only one who died as well.

Police report said that the one who did not get ejected from the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. The female in the car was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and is still alive.

I'm not so sure about this. I was in a roll over accident without a seat belt and walked away with only a scratch.
