Why is pornography legal but prostitution not?

Why am I able to film sex on tape and get paid for it, but not pay someone to have sex off camera. Which sick frick came up with the law in the first place, "hmm I dont want to pay for actual pleasure, but I will pay to watch in my own privacy".

There is nothing weak about not being able to monitor a trade. You could not have any legal backing for most of the transactions, and further more the government has no way of consistently monitoring a market which would immediately explode. I would also see how rampant disease problems would become more relevant than they are now.

The same way you would with any service; ie massage, why can't I get jerked off. Imagine a world where you can get jerked off during finals or between lunch breaks at work. Geez, it almost as satisfying as getting high work.
