Isn't that an old cop trick where they try to lure people with outstanding warrants someplace with promises of prizes or free money and then arrest them?

depends on which state you live in, just google (states name) unclaimed properties

I got $1,645 back from LA treasury last year. Property taxes from a refi. Oddly, did another property at same time and got that check. No reasonable way it should have been turned over to state treasury.

<$25 from 2008, back when I lived in an apartment on Brightside. It just says "REFUNDS DUE" so I'm not exactly sure what it is.
