My mind is an absolute blank as to what happened the few times these guys were on the floor together.

In a worst case scenario, what if we played:

Jrue
EG
Evans
AD
Asik

Besides sucking at the 3 point line.

Just thinking out loud.

Really Really struggle against the most potent position in the league..

Doesn't mean we can't run this lineup and have success, but we have to acquire a guy who can guard a 3.

They were pretty much unstoppable paired with Ryno and Davis. If you swap out Ryno for Asik, the spacing may suffer too much, but it may not be that bad as Davis doesn't have to play so close to the rim.

Jrue and Eg shoot the 3 well. AD is increasing his range so I think lineup mixes well together.

Yea, that's what I meant by saying that AD doesn't have to play next to the rim. He has a decent 18 ft jumper. So with only Asik down low there could be room for penetration from Tyreke.

Wasn't this the lineup that everyone originally thought of after acquiring Evans last year? minus asik of course...

It appeared Tyreke played a lot of minutes with two other guards on the floor last season. I don't see why it can't work.

I actually meant to reply to VOR. I agree with what you said. I think the lineup can be effective. It may not be his specialty but Reke can guard 3's successfully especially now with AD and Asik behind him. I am for trading Gordon but only if Evans + whoever we bring in> Gordon+Evans otherwise I'd rather ride with Gordon and looking at the market I don't see much.

Holiday: career 37.6 3pt%
Gordon: career 36.8 3pt%
Ryno: career 38.6 3pt%

compared to

Morrow: career 42.8 3pt%

I think they'd be fine with hitting a 3pt shot if their ball movement is good enough. I just worry that their defense vs. some of the better scoring 3s may abuse them.

I believe Evans's Defensive rating matches up with most other prospects that the Pelicans could acquire. He's average guarding 3's but that's equal to if not better than the players available. I feel a lot more secure with him with Davis and Asik to help him out.

well Jrue, davis, and asik are premiere defenders. so we are just a little weak at the wing spots. EG is decent and tyeke isnt too shabby but the best SF's will school him.

LeBron, Durant, George? Well yeah they do that to everyone. That's why they're elite. I don't think there's a player that's available that can shut them down anymore than Tyreke possibly can.
