BoBo's on Lombard St.

Wife and I ate there on our honeymoon and it was delicious.

Bone in filet
Garlic Dungeness crab
Brussel sprouts with bacon

We enjoyed The Brazen Head. Its a mafia joint, cash only no reservations, that's pretty thick with ambiance.

It's not modern or newish, but the food is great and it's in a neat location. No sign though.

For steak our hotel told us to go to Alfred's...its been open since 1928, and has an old San Fran feel to it....one hell of a whiskey menu. It was pretty good.

Agreed. It's on the edge of ChinaTown so you can grab lunch and spend the afternoon in ChinaTown and end the day at Alred's. Great place.

House of Prime Rib is an absolute must

$40 for a massive cut of Prime Rib with two sides and bread. Make your reservation a month or so in advance.

Restaurant Gary Danko was good, service was incredible but expensive.

Fleur de Lis by Hubert Keller was extremely expensive and not very good. It's all tasting size portions and they are weird as frick.

Scala's Bistro inside of Sir Francis Drake Hotel was great. Not that expensive and service was exceptional.

Last time I was in San Francisco I had a pretty good filet mignon at John's Grill. I was a setting in Dashiell Hammett's "Maltese Falcon":

It's been around since 1908.

Stay the frick out of the Oak Room at the Westin on Union Square. Everyone raved about it. We went. It fricking blew and was expensive.
