"Tiger Near cut line" is a headline on ESPN.com.
At what point does he stop getting elevated coverage? Been awhile since his last major win.
Just wondering what the MSB thinks.

To answer your question, probably when he retires or is on Sr. Tour

This week is just a big deal since he's returning from injury
Not saying he doesn't always get coverage, but I think it's elevated even more this week especially considering the field is lacking a lot of star power

Well it's been 6 years since he won his last major. If the hype hasn't stopped yet, it won't ever stop.

I hate people like you. He was PGA player of the year last year and led the tour in adjusted average, money, and wins.
quote:
Completing his 16th full season as a PGA Tour professional, Woods won The Players Championship and two World Golf Championships among his five victories; finished as the No. 1 money leader; and won the Vardon Trophy by posting the lowest adjusted season scoring average (68.98).
quote:
Woods' 60 overall victory points were based upon wins in the Farmers Insurance Open, the WGC-Cadillac Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship (worth 20 points) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Woods earned 20 points as the No. 1 money leader, and 20 more points for adjusted scoring average.
So to answer your question, it'll stop when he's no longer the best player on the planet when healthy.

People think Tiger sucks now after he had the best year on tour last year in just about every category (money, wins, average).
It's like I'm taking crazy pills. And I'm no giant Tiger fan. The Players is not a major but is the closest thing to it and he won it. Was also top 5 in majors.
WHAT IS GOING ON THIS GUY SUCKS NOW!?!?!?

But thanks to everyone for completely milking it to make sure I saw the error of my ways.

I'm with you. Its as if there are only 4 tournaments a year or something.
Its like saying Dale Earnhardt was a shitty driver when he had all those Winston Cups but no Daytona.

He was the number one player in the world TWO months ago (before he got injured). It's just unreal to me when people think he's just this overrated, mediocre golfer. Lebron James hadn't won a championship until he went to the Heat, and Peyton Manning has only won 1 and that was later in his career. Tiger is second all time. All 3 have gotten extensive media coverage in their careers and Tiger is no question the greatest of these athletes. I don't think you see many people complain about the Peyton Manning media coverage or love.

Can you be considered one of the all-time greats AND be outrageously over-rated???
If so, Tiger Woods.
