Thinking about how thousands of Iraqi soldiers said screw it and surrendered with ISIS attacking them. Lets pretend Louisiana has 1 day notice that ISIS with, we'll say 15000 troops and all the weapons they currently have in Iraq, are about to invade La. We have no outside help and no military, all we have is La citizens and the guns we already have. They came prepared with enough food and ammo to last 2 years. How long would we last fighting them or do you think we could destroy them to their last man?

Ok, have to go to work, TIA

HMLA 775 can take those nerds out by themselves.

The whole state could just stay home and watch it on tv.

So, Mississippi is Syria in this hypothetical situation? Makes sense.

Our citizens and Nasty Guard of 5,000 could take them out in a week.

That's a bit of hyperbole, no? I've heard parts of Syria are nice.

Harder for them to disguise, we know the roads, we control the buildings, and we have the beach. And we have proven to get pissed when anyone attacks on our land. They will do some damage, but they will die.

Considering they would have RPG's and machine guns platforms, it would be harder than most would think with absolutely no help from any type of military equipment. We would hold them back and ultimately win but it wouldn't be the arse kicking most are saying.

At least 2 million+ gun owners in LA.

We have all that and more between the National Guard armories throughout the state, state and local police forces, Barksdale, and Fort Polk. We'd be just fine. Heck, there's a tank and a helicopter gunship in the armory next to the baseball fields in Gonzales

ISIS is having success in Iraq because their citizens are disarmed, the Iraqi military had all of its competent officers purged for political reasons, and because most of the areas they now control supported them in secret from the beginning because the Al-Maliki regime does not support them or even offer them a voice in government. ISIS is only a threat to Iraq because Iraq sowed its own demise.

15,000 troops who don't know how to aim vs hundreds o thousands of rednecks with scoped rifles?

I doubt they would last a month.
