How many days rest does it take to get over one game?

I know this will be taken as a troll, but I'm somewhat confused about this. I keep hearing how the US is very tired from the short rest in between the last two games. How is this possible?
You arguably have the best of the best of the best of the best of the best players in the country. Some quick calculations show these 23 players to be the top .0000575% of the population selected to be on this team. It boggles my mind that these guys can't recover from a game after 3-4 days rest.
Yes, I know this is the probably the highest level that these guys are playing at. But still, almost 4 days rest and they are hampered that much for it to be a big storyline?
This is not an attack on soccer. I say the same thing regarding basketball when people say a couple days rest is not enough for teams in the playoffs or finals.
Football teams play games on Sunday and have to play again on Thursdays sometimes and those guys get physically beat up.

its relative bruh. Sure they can but 4 days rest is better than 3.

I don't think it's so much 1 game, but injuries accumulated from previous ones

If it happens on the reg people usually complain about a game every 3 or 4 games, but nobody complains in international tournaments.

Soccer's level of activity >>>>>>>>> an NFL player

You try running 9 miles in 80 or 90 mins and see how many days it takes you to be 100%
Posted on 6/26/14 at 1:37 pm to Chair
It's a big part of the game when the opponent has more rest than you and you are on a short turnaround.
These guys are running their asses off and leaving it on the field
Also the last game for them was in a rain forest and the other tteams was not

Soccer's level of physicality <<<<<<<< an NFL player

Soccer players cover more than two times the distance of a basketball player and in less time. The last game was played Sunday afternoon in the rainforest. I don't know if there is that much more to be said.

And that has nothing to do with this.
Showing your true ignorance

I'm not in that .000057% chosen to be on the team, so of course I would not be able to do it.
Go look at any marathon runner's training schedule. They run 8-9 miles sometimes 3 times in a week's time and continue doing that for months.

It;s just a comparison about recovery.

That's what they do though. Run. That's it.
If running is so physical, why don't runners play football or soccer?

And physicality =/= being more tired and needing more rest. Awful comparison

And then they don't play again for almost a week and a half.

We played our second game in the fricking rainforest. That shite is exhausting. Takes a few days.

Marathon runners heart rates dont normally change and thats why they are good at it...in a soccer mstch you are constantly stopping and starting which is much harde on you physically. I wouldnt expect you to know the difference though
