Someone convince me that Portugal can get a result tomorrow vs. Ghana

I'm not feeling it. From all accounts, Portugal has been trash in their first two games.
They were completely dominated be Ze Germans, down early and never in the game, all while losing players to injury and an unnecessary red card. CR7 is probably playing @ 70% right now and is still limping around in training. Portugal drew us only because of 2 colossal US defensive derps - we looked to be better than them overall.
Some would say that Ghana probably deserved a better outcome against us. They earned a legit draw against powerhouse Germany. The good news is Sulley Muntari is out for this game, and there has talks of infighting within the Ghana camp, and distractions outside due to lack of payment by their football association.
Ghana's motivation is clear - a win gives them a decent shot to advance. Portugal needs a lopsided win and us getting our arse kicked, which is highly unlikely based on the run of form throughout the group. From their Portuguese body language after the Varela goal, they looked like they didn't even give a damn anymore regardless.
This isn't an indictment on our side - we are definitely a good team that passes the eyeball test thus far - but Portugal kinda sucks arse right now.

Ghana is more worried about getting paid than advancing and will lay down as a big frick you to their government for attempting to frick them over...
was that at all convincing?
was that at all convincing?

The game is going to be wide open and Ronaldo is going to have a lot more space than he did vs the US or Germany because Ghana has to win. He obviously isn't 100% but he will have an impact on that game.

They ended up getting paid, though.

Truth... USA only had like 2 or 3 opportunities in Ghana's third and scored on 2 of them... Ghana's backline is suspect.

apparently the Ghana team had quite the press conference about the money situation today... like players saying they wanted it in cash and would take it w/ them in their bags back home
seemed very, very weird

Agreed - it's definitely a weakness, and their GK.
I suspect Essien will come in for Muntari in the midfield as well, but his best days are far behind him.
I'm most worried about Portugal's fricks given TBH.

I think it's unlikely, but not highly unlikely.

I think Portugal wins tomorrow. Expect a spectacular show from Ronaldo.

Pepe will be back. Maybe some of their injured guys will return. I think Ronaldo will not go down without a fight.

Portugal plays best on the counter, while Ghana is an aggressive attacking team with a poor back line and suspect finishing. Portugal cashes in enough counter attacks to win...

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for Ghana fouls in and around the penalty area for sure.
Tomorrow, we are all CR7 fans.

True, but Ghana appears to be better based on current form and results.
Betting against Portugal in this WC has paid handsomely

Ghana is the very definition of a counter-attacking team. They have massive trouble breaking down 10 behind the ball. Portugal is much more likely to do it than Ghana. It will be a very open game, which will help interesting.

Yeah, they're both counter-attacking teams.
Portugal's left side is an absolute mess, so I assume Ghana's coach will have them trying to exploit that. The one thing that could help Portugal there is that Ghana's right side (Atsu and whoever the FB is) are pretty wasteful.

I think Ghana has 2 goals in them this match, I can only pray that the dominant Ronaldo shows up this match. I think Portugal have a goal in them.
If thats the case I hope USA can do a 2-1 loss at worst.
