I haven't had cable for years and I have absolutely no idea about things like this -- I've had a 20 inch TV in my bedroom for years and that's it.

Moving into a new place and would like a bigger TV, but I won't use it enough to drop a ton of money on it. What's the best TV that you can buy for $300 or less?

Ideally looking for something in the 40-45 inch range.

I just bought an insignia 1080p from best buy as suggested by some on this board. It really does have a solid HD picture.

You're gonna have to settle for one of the lower brand TVs. (Insignia, Westinghouse, RCA, etc.) You'll get decent size, but pretty bland quality.

I have no goddamn idea what he's talking about.

Thanks for the suggestions, y'all. Looks like Insignia or Panasonic are the way to go. I'll have to see if I can find some comparisons of them on the net.

I am trying to find a nice tv around 40" in the 200-300 price range. I know difficult..
I know this is a crappy brand, but my gosh this seems hard to beat at $229 shipped and no tax.. And it doesn't say refurb.. but surely it* has to be?

LINK

Again, I understand the options are limited but LED at 1080p and 40 inches that seems decent.

That's pretty legit.. Would like to know more about it.. I always see people talk about these great deals, yet I can NEVER find them.

He made a thread right after he got it, I tried like hell to find one but not lucky enough. You had to have the exact model, they make another 50" that is one digit off that is in the $500- $600 range.

keep looking. returns come back all the time and since the buzz has died down, you dont have fatwallet-ers calling every walmart within 500 miles grabbing them all.

i can say after what..a year of owning this tv that its a fantastic tv.

super lightweight and i bring it outside all the time to watch movies with the kids & football in the fall.

i wouldnt want to do that with a heavier tv.
