My dad has had one since before I was born. He still uses it today. What do you want to know about them?

How well do they hold up, are they expensive (relative to a Hanko or Scully), and are they suited for fresh and saltwater fishing. I have a friend who swears by them, but I just wanted other opinions.

re: Reno skiffs

Sonny Reno made my 20' skiff in 1980. It still sits in my driveway but I haven't used it in a few years. A very solid boat. His son makes them now using the same molds in the same warehouse behind Middendorfs in Manchac. Use to have an 18' (maybe 16'?), 20, 23, and 27. All are very shallow draft. With a 115 hp engine the 20 would do > 50 mph. They've sold many a boats in the last 40 years.

My buddy had two. Rugged, reliable boats with not a damn thing to hold onto. There's a reason most of them on the water are 20+ years old, and every single one of them gets used hard. They are also pretty good in shallow water. We used his going through the marsh/swamp many, many times with no problems. They ride over logs with ease. I haven't ever been in one that wasn't dirty as hell

My Brother in law has a 20' with a 150. Boat is awesome, other than when he has to refiberglass it.
Does everything from marsh fishing, rig fishing, shrimp, hunt, you name it.
I agree on the nothing to hold onto.

My Father in law had one similar that he mullet fished out of and that one took a beating. Would probably still be good if Katrina hadn't landed a knockout blow.
He just bought another Reno, stripped it and redid it with composite and it's badass.
