When buying a new washer/dryer, do you buy the extended warranty?

It's only a little over $100 for 5 years. Sounds worth it to me. What do you think?

Hell no.

Do you think they are selling those warranties to lose money?

Nope.....only one I used to buy was from Sears, where they would come out to your house and do a prevenative check on it once a year, clean it etc.

I know dude I don't even have health insurance for my kids. Anything that turns a profit is bad for the consumer.

Waste of money. It will break. Not during the warranty period.

I believe this is in addition to the regular warranty. So, if the motor has a 10 year warranty, this extends it to 15 years.

I am all about profit.

But, extended warranties are excellent at extracting money from consumers while normally giving nothing in return.

I know I'm just taking your point too far. I don't buy them either.

Only because I'm bad with money and I'm half listening to the salesman, nodding and saying sure while I hover my card waiting to swipe so I can go home. I'm the exact type of person they target.

Ok, so that's a big fat no. Thanks for the input. I usually don't but when electricity and water are concerned I thought maybe this time...

How big is your family? Do you cram the washer till you cant put anymore towels(my wife does)? If you use it as a light duty washer, than no. If you abuse it, yes. My last 2 failed within the warranty and were replaced, not fixed. Most of them are direct drive units now that cost more to fix than replace.

Drier.... No

No abuse. Average use. I think I've got my answer. But if my washer breaks and fills my upstairs hallway with water y'all are going to come over and fix it right?
