I still feel like we advance, and I see the odds that Nate Silver's SPI machine are putting out, but damn, I really hope this match doesn't deflate us for Thursday, because if so, Germany could easily drop a 3-0 result on us and that would mean Ghana would just need a 1-0 win.

If we get indirectly fricked by Ghana after finally beating them, I may go insane.

frick, I'm scared.

Ghana without Muntari crumbles. Portugal wins by 2.

We lose, but only by one.

We go through.

The same team that allowed this to happen last year?

We'll get the result we need, no matter what happens.

Ends with us not advancing. After the heart breaker that was tonight, feel we are destined for more failure.

Give away goal to start the game give away goal to end the game.

Ghana's had two frick-ups cost them points.

In past cups I would agree. In this cup I see a team that is mentally tough, which I why I Believe....

We play well but lose to Germany 2-1. Ghana beats Portugal 2-1.

This puts Germany at 7 points, the US at 4, and Ghana at 4. Portugal is out with 1 point.

That way, our goal differential is 0. Ghana's goal differential is 0. And we move on to head-to-head.

We get into the second round that way.

If we lose 3-1 to Germany or Ghana beats Portugal 3-1, I will be furious. If Ghana wins 3-2 (or we lose 1-0), that means Ghana wins since goals scored is ahead of head to head on tiebreakers.

And if that happens, I will be fricking enraged.

And Ghana is our kryptonite, just finding new more exciting ways to eliminate us this year.

Doesn't mean much if you have defenders like Cameron patrolling.

Call it a mistake, but that was a beautiful cross and header and to call it a throw away goal disrespects it.

I think unless the US just implodes, they will advance.

I'm worried.

The short rest after playing in the jungle, the way the game ended, and germany being Germany worry me plenty. A 2 goal loss Thursday under the circumstances wouldn't surprise me.

Also I think Portugal has a good shot against Ghana. They are getting players back, Ghana will be without a good one. Wouldnt be surprised if Portugal won, which would almost certainly get usthrough.

The only thing I'm fairly confident in is I think Ghana beats Portugal handily. Portugal is gassed and honestly has almost no chance to advance. They weren't one bit excited about that goal at the end to beat us. We are gonna have to take care of business I'm afraid.

I swear if Ghana fricks us again.

I can't get mad about that last second goal. It was perfect. Unbelievable. It was just beautiful.

In the final seconds of what was a locked up sealed win, in what would have been one of if not the biggest win in National team history. Allowing a cross by arguably the world's greatest player whom was in absolute space with no one around, after a give away error that connected to a streaking offensive player.
