Is there any reason to believe they won't be playing for the tie?

Because Germany and the US will both be pissed about these last two results.

You play to win the game.

Except in soccer sometimes, you play to tie.

Germany is pretty much through regardless. Their goal differential is too strong to overcome barring a miracle.

They do need a confidence boost though. I don't think they're going to play nice. Should be a hell of a game.

I don't watch a lot of soccer.... But one thing I know is that when a tie is a good thing for a team.... They fricking playv for the tie.

And a tie is good for both teams

I would fully expect USA to go into total turtle mode which means they will likely lose 1-0.

This team is so much better when it is playing aggressively.

Want to know why Mexico is in the Cup and Panama isn't? Because the US plays to win every match.

I definitely enjoyed watching them play from behind more than ahead

I will quit watching this if this is the plan.

Except it isn't necessarily good for Germany. They're likely through regardless.

I mean it isn't bad, but they will likely play balls to the walls to get their shite together before knockouts.

Yeah, but our World Cup lives weren't at stake then.

Wouldn't it be in their best interest to not get any red cards or injuries?

Look...I care about soccer every four years...idfk how they look at this...but it would seem to me both teams would be happy with a draw

The only way Germany is ousted is with a loss, so they will have to be somewhat careful. A Ghana win and Germany loss puts the US and Ghana in if I'm not mistaken.

the fact that Germany isn't guaranteed to advance is why it won't be a pillow fight

Unless Ghana wins big, I believe you are mistaken.

Because Germany is the best team in the world and isn't going to be afraid.
