Yeah sweet article.

“We are looking for opportunities for them to feel as if going to work and getting a paycheck is not always fun, not always stimulating, not always fair,” President Obama added. “But that’s what most folks go through every single day.”

The sage words from the Obamas come just days before the the White House hosts the Working Families Summit, which is set for Monday. They also come on the heels of a failed effort in the Senate to increase the minimum wage to $10.10, which the president supported. Obama signed an executive order in February that lifted the minimum wage for federal contractors to that amount.

The Parade interview offered insight into the Obamas’ work histories, which included low-paying jobs and times of financial fragility.

Michelle Obama said she took her last job, pre-White House, because her boss allowed her to enjoy flexibility with her responsibilities as a mother.

“I didn’t have a babysitter, so I took Sasha right in there with me in her crib and her rocker,” she said.

This is kind of like Paul Ryan working at a fast food chain. When you come home to a mansion then you don't really get the same life experience the rest of us do.

I think it's a well known fact Michelle had a no-show type job prior to becoming FLOTUS.

That being said, I say good for them for at least trying to instill some real life (even if it's not real real) experiences to their daughters given their silver spoon upbringing.

Sounds like a good idea for all children, certainly those from a privileged background. Those kids will be spoiled and entitled as frick if they don't experience some of the real world.

Would be willing to bet Sasha and Maliya won't be working a landscape crew with those hard working immigrants Obama wants amnesty for

Somehow I doubt that Spielberg is paying Malia minimum wage this summer.

Willing to bet she is one of the highest paid lackeys.

What the Obama daughter is learning that some other deserving candidate for the position is shite out of luck because she's the president's kid and she gets the job regardless of her qualifications.

Well if they get their way and raise minimum wage to over 10 bucks an hour, fewer and fewer young folks will have the opportunity to work. My first few jobs were at or near minimum wage and all gave me an opportunity to work and gain experience that led to the easy conclusion that these nobs were not meant to be long term life employment.

Going to work and putting in an honest day's labor is never a bad thing.

What's "not always fun" and "not always stimulating" is having your paycheck stolen from you through taxation and your take-home pay stolen through the individual mandate, ethanol, and countless other regulations.

Fair wage is always paid within the market the service is rendered. All things are not equal in this world. Living in Flatbush is not equal to Santa Monica. Living in some hicktown is not equal to some city. You got mo than me,

And aren't they teenagers or so?

I remember working for 7.50 an hour and it was a crazy amount of money for spending allowances.

Minimum wages doesn't suck. It's what minimum wage affords you that sucks.

I threw hay bales for .25 a bale when I was a teen. All it taught me was that that hard work and a strong back doesn't pay much
