Their milkshake machines are never working, anywhere. Not a biggie since the shakes suck anyway.

if you want Ice cream after 9 pm at my Local McDonalds you are SOL. It is always "being cleaned" or "out of service"

McD's HATES serving dairy at night.

It's probably the universe's way of telling you you're fat enough.

Good. Get a Chick Fil-A milkshake instead.

Yeah it is laziness. Those machines are annoying to clean so it's "not working" happens a lot. Usually it's at the end of the night before closing time once you clean it and say "it's broken" so you don't hae to clean it again.

Experienced this two saturdays in a row. First time was at 3pm and the girl said it was down for maintenance. Today at 8:30pm she said they were out of milk shakes.

Well when the outdoor temp is over 90 and the humidity level is over 87%, the internal cooling mechanism in the turbo-frost 118G can freeze up.

I think I can count on one hand the times I have gone to McDonalds and the milkshake machine was working.

I don't know their operations but I am sure it involves them not wanting to clean it again. I'd love to get enough people to hit every mcdonald's at the same time at midnight while videoing. Send it off to their corporate and just see what their response is. Do a search for this on google and you'll see how big of a deal this is.

Is it a coincidence that the demographics of the employees have shifted? I used to never go go McD's much less get milk shakes from there, but I'm dealing with a pregnant wife now and its like a constant junk food rampage.

I remember ice cream machines used to be down in the McDonalds near the hood. Some friends and I went to Jack in the Box in Northish Baton Rouge at 9pm once and they had reduced the menu down to like 3 options. They were out of hamburgers, which was hilarious. It was like chicken nuggets, coke, and fries were our only options. Ah, good times.

I hear it a lot at Jack in the Box. I don't know why they'd be unwilling to make a milkshake. When I worked at Burger King in high school, it was a two-step process. Dispense frozen sugar/dairy/misc. solution into cup, then mix in syrup with an auto mixer.

My second job was at Baskin Robbins, and I witnessed the "shake machine be broke" line when it was 5 minutes before closing time.

Don't they just put ice cream and milk in a blender?
